A Document Grant allows a user outside a network or company to access a document directly through a URL address. However, because the outside user will not be using the document viewer plug-in within their browser to view the document, the document will open in the native application on the user’s computer that is associated with that file type. Therefore, the document’s annotations cannot be displayed, as this feature requires the plug-in.
