Error HTTP 403: This website requires you to log in
Version: R70

Description
Summary
This error generally indicates a problem with IIS accessing the C:\Program Files\Digitech Systems\PaperVision\PVEWeb\ directory. IIS can’t access the necessary files found at this location to execute anonymous authentication. Generally, this is an indication that PVE was installed using a non-administrative account (local access only). In this scenario, certain files needed by IIS would then be missing from the local user profile.
To troubleshoot and resolve this error, follow the steps below:
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
- Highlight PaperVision Enterprise from the list of Programs Installed, and click the Remove button. Once the application has been un-installed, do not delete the Digitech Systems folder (found at C:\Program Files).
- Shut down and reboot the computer.
- When the computer reboots, log in to the computer using a Local (or System) Administrator account that has the necessary rights to perform a software installation.
- Click Start > Run, then type the following into the command line: C:\WindowsMicrosoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe –i. This step is required to re-register the .NET framework that may have become corrupt or un-stable.
- Once the .NET registration completes, install PaperVision Enterprise again, this time as the Local (System) Administrator. During the configuration of PVE, when prompted:
- Re-enter the necessary website and authentication gateway information. When prompted to override the current settings, choose Yes to update both the existing web site, as well as the authentication gateway.
- Ensure the account to be used for anonymous access, as well as the account that will be responsible for running the automation service has the necessary security rights to access the Digitech Systems folder, as well as any data storage locations.
