This article outlines the minimum steps needed to configure a job that requires the name of the batch not be blank in the client.

Summary

This task can be accomplished by configuring the New Batch Name (Regular Expression) property in the start step. When an operator creates a new batch and leaves the batch name blank, the system will display the message “Batch name cannot be blank for this job step”.

To configure the New Batch Name (Regular Expression) follow the steps below:

  1. From the Admin Console, open the job in the Job Definition window.
  2. Edit the properties of the start step.
  3. In the New Batch Name (Regular Expression) property, add “S” (no quotes).
  4. Complete the rest of the job setup (if necessary), activate and check in the job.
