To enhance security, PaperVision Enterprise allows for maximum session idle times to be set by both global and entity administrators. This setting specifies the number of minutes a user can sit idle before the automation service automatically terminates their session (logs the user out of the system).

This option is configured in two different areas of the PaperVision Administration Console; Global System Settings and as part of the Entity Security Policy. This allows for each entity to customize this option to a value that is equal to or less than the global setting. It is important to note that the Global System setting always overrides the Entity setting with respect to session idle times. If a user tries to configure their max. session idle time to a value greater than the global setting, the global setting will be used instead.

To edit the global max session idle time setting:

1. Log in to the PaperVision Enterprise Admin Console as the Global Administrator.
2. Expand Global Administration, right-click on System Settings and select Configure System Settings.
3. From the General tab, under Utilization Limits, configure the Max. Global Session idle time to a desired value (set to 20 minutes by default).
4. Click OK to save your changes and close the System Settings window.

To edit the entity max session idle time setting:

1. Log in to the PaperVision Enterprise Admin Console as either the Global or Entity Administrator.
2. Expand Entities, and then expand General Security under the applicable entity.
3. Right-click Security Policy, and select Configure Security Policy.
4. From the General tab, under Session Cleanup, set a value equal to or less than the global setting (set to 20 minutes by default). If the value entered is greater than the Global max session idle time, the global value will be used instead.
5. Click OK to save your changes.
