Description
Summary
The PaperVision Enterprise Authentication Gateway uses the “Windows Authentication” option in IIS to allow users to automatically log into PaperVision Enterprise. If this option was not selected during the install of IIS, the above error will be returned when a user attempts to add or configure a PaperVision Enterprise Authentication Gateway.
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 operating systems, “Windows Authentication” is automatically installed as part of IIS. For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 operating systems, “Windows Authentication” is optional and must be selected as part of the IIS install.
Follow these steps to install the “Windows Authentication” option for IIS
- Open the Control Panel
- Click on Programs > Programs and Features
- On the left hand side, click the option “Turn Windows features on or off”
- Expand the option “Internet Information Services”
- Expand the option “World Wide Web Services”
- Expand the option “Security”
- Select (check) the “Windows Authentication” option to include in IIS
- Click OK
Once the option has been installed, return to the PaperVision Enterprise Configuration Wizard. Click OK to the “(401) Unauthorized error” message currently displayed. Click the “Next” button to continue configuring PaperVision Enterprise. The Configuration Wizard will then display a message that the web site already exists and prompt the user to reconfigure the web site. Click “Yes” to this prompt and then continue through the remaining screens to complete the install.
